Custom Software Engineer Specialist

October 2023 - Present

  • Part of a team developing a Pega application in Pega 8.8.2 for the Department of Health and Human Services

  •  Application assists government personnel in helping appellants obtain Medicare or Medicaid benefits

  • Leading upgrade efforts to transition the application to Pega Infinity 24.1

Software Developer

April 2020 - October 2023

  • Built a program application which could significantly reduce labor costs by automating aspects of producing safe Process Hazard Analyses for chemical industries

  • Developed government software on a team to be used by Wright-Patterson AFB

  • Completed relevant training and practice in proprietary programming language (Pega) in order to obtain several certifications

Teaching Assistant

January 2019 - May 2020

  • Instructed first-year engineering students on topics including LabView, Python, Statistics, etc. while encouraging an atmosphere of teamwork and acting as a peer mentor to assimilate students to college life

Engineering Intern

August 2016 - August 2019

  • Led a project to update Hazard and Process labels/statements for all finished goods in North America through multiple customers to satisfy new GHS regulations

  • Integrated new products from BASF agriculture portfolio into a coherent Product Selector tool to facilitate purchasing for future customers

  • Led a project to execute a new process to replace our previously inefficient caustic system

  • Optimized production systems by enabling the implementation of new pipelines, specifically for biocide(s)

  • Created and updated P&IDs for site utilities, such as for plant air and steam & condensate

  • Prepared for Audits by conducting mechanical integrity reports, MOCs, and PSV calculations/replacements

  • Conducted extensive performance testing/research as part of a Green Belt initiative to deduce an appropriate strategy for milling colorants

  • Received two informal awards from management for outstanding performance

  • Prepared pre-formulated laboratory chemical blends and assisted in the re-formulation of said blends

  • Performed quality control experiments and tests on products before allowing them to be sold to customers

  • Conducted meetings to effectively communicate with other conglomerates about results on possible products

  • Planned, mapped out, and implemented lockouts of valves and flanges to safely perform updates on parts of esterifiers and other vessels

  • Completed capital projects, such as measuring and calculating pressure drops of chemical piping to determine purchases of future apparatus to ensure plant safety and efficiency
